Nestled in the heart of Helsinki, Finland, Ekotekt was founded in 2019 by architect Abhishek Kumar Devjibhai. With extensive experience spanning across countries like India, Sweden, London, Denmark, and Estonia, Abhishek identified a chasm in the construction industry - the underutilisation of digital fabrication and the untapped potential of its experts.

Challenging the Status Quo

Today's construction industry is characterised by outdated methods that are not just inefficient but also environmentally taxing, unsustainable, and perilous. Yet, it stands at a pivotal juncture. Government regulations demand drastic reductions in CO2 emissions. While digital fabrication found its spotlight in artistic ventures and pavilion creations, mainstream construction processes often overlooked its transformative power. Digital fabrication, with its precision and efficiency, can be the answer, heralding a new era for the construction world.

Leadership

Abhishek Kumar Devjibhai

FOUNDER & CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER
A serial entrepreneur and an innovator with over 12 years of seasoned leadership, Abhishek Kumar Devjibhai is the Chief Executive & Innovator at Ekotekt. Before envisioning Ekotekt, he founded and led Kumar & Hoilund Design Solutions as CEO. In this role, he introduced transformative prefabricated housing designs to the Indian market. With an entrepreneurial spirit, Abhishek launched his first venture in Denmark in 2009, emphasizing architectural excellence. Graduating from the KTH Royal Institute of Technology with a specialization in Digital Fabrication, he has also had the privilege to work alongside architectural giant, Dr. Balkrishna Doshi. He has also been instrumental in organizing workshops on India Contemporary Architecture, in collaboration with the Danish and Norwegian Association of Architects and that has further accentuated his leadership and passion for architectural innovation.
Mikael Hoilund

DESIGN DIRECTOR
Mikael Hoilund is a distinguished Danish architect and brings a wealth of global and diverse experiences of from Denmark's Schmidt Hammer Lassen Architects to New York's Donghia and Architecture Research Office. Over the past two decades, he has collaborated with renowned institutions like the Danish Embassy and Consulate General of Denmark and contributed to several areas in designing for the future.
Founding his own studio in Aarhus, he leads residential projects with creative flair. His designs have adorned furniture fair booths worldwide, representing the Danish Embassy. Recognizing India's potential, Mikael co-founded an architectural consultancy focused on prefabricated solutions, driving transformative change in construction practices. Currently, as co-founder of Ekotekt, he's at the forefront of digital fabrication and 3D concrete printing, revolutionizing sustainability in construction. Mikael's academic foundation is rooted in a Master's degree from Aarhus School of Architecture.
Dhiraj Khot

CHIEF BUSINESS OFFICER
Dhiraj Khot is a serial entrepreneur and a seasoned business strategist with two decades of experience in launching and growing businesses in the technology sector. Dhiraj led the growth consulting practice of Yana Consulting Group, a boutique sales consulting firm, which helped several companies in technology and engineering services to grow into European and African markets, set up solid sales engines and grow 10x. Out of his experience and passion for helping entrepreneurs, he started the Yana School of Entrepreneurship to help young fresh graduates to kick-start their entrepreneurial ventures. YSE expanded into India and Middle Eastern countries, giving rise to several startups and patents. Earlier in his career, Dhiraj co-founded August Solutions and led it through the complete entrepreneurial journey - from starting to selling a venture. He has been part of several other ventures like Linsyssoft, Club 1729, Ecorecycling, etc where he has lent his experience and expertise to help companies grow. Dhiraj holds a Bachelors's in Engineering from the University of Pune and a Masters's in Management from the prestigious IIT Bombay.
Jukka Hakola

BOARD MEMBER
Jukka Hakola is a seasoned Corporate Leader, Board Member and Investor. with more than four decades of experience. In senior executive roles, Jukka Hakola has been instrumental in steering the growth of companies by setting and driving sales organisations and pioneering new ventures. His leadership has been pivotal in implementing transformative changes in business projects and processes. Known for setting ambitious goals and championing change management, his communicative approach, adept presentation skills, and keen listening abilities have galvanized teams towards new objectives.
Internationally, Jukka has collaborated with a diverse array of customers, suppliers, and colleagues, consistently playing a key role in executive teams. His knack for fostering enduring relationships with both customers and suppliers stands out. Beyond relationship management, he possesses a keen eye for financial reporting, swiftly deciphering the narratives behind the numbers.
