Ekotekt’s 3D-printed demonstration wall, showcased earlier at Recotech during SLUSH 2025, has now been delivered to Metropolia University of Applied Sciences’ Myllypuro Campus. The structure was received and inspected in Metropolia’s Construction Technology Laboratory and will next be used in the Concrete Laboratory for teaching, demonstrations, and material technology development.
The wall combines 3D-printed concrete ribs, hempcrete insulation, and lime plaster, offering a carbon-negative, lightweight, and material-efficient alternative to conventional wall systems. Its arrival marks an important step in strengthening research collaboration around low-carbon and bio-based construction solutions.
Ekotekt is part of the TITAN – Future Construction Hub collaboration network, developed together with Metropolia, Aalto University, and Stadin AO and supported by the Helsinki Innovation Fund.
In recent months, Ekotekt has continued to gain international visibility, with recognitions such as the PropTech Startup Europe Top 13, Clean Future Accelerator Construction Winner, and the EXPO REAL Impact Awards – ConTech Category Winner.
